Hypnotherapy
Working Beneath the Surface
What Hypnotherapy Can Help With
Hypnotherapy supports a range of areas by working with the patterns that influence thoughts, behaviour, and physical responses. In practice, this includes:
Support for anxiety, stress, and overwhelm by helping regulate both mental and physical responses.
Help with sleep issues, including difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or switching off at night.
Support for stopping smoking by working with the patterns and triggers that drive the habit.
Support for confidence, self-belief, and reducing internal resistance in social or performance situations.
Support for weight loss by working with habits, behaviour patterns, and consistency in daily choices.
Support for motivation, consistency, and mental barriers affecting training and performance.
Support for relaxation, guided exploration, and working with deeper or more personal experiences.
How Hypnotherapy Works
Hypnotherapy uses a structured, guided process to work directly with the patterns behind your thoughts, behaviours, and physical responses.
During a session, I guide your attention into a calmer, more focused state. As your mind becomes less distracted, you can work more effectively with habits, emotional responses, and automatic reactions.
Importantly, you remain aware and in control throughout. While I guide the process, we work collaboratively, and the change comes from your own mind.
Each session follows a clear format:
Discussion
A short conversation to clarify what you want to work on and how progress will be measured. This helps shape the session around your specific goals.
Guided Focus
Guided focus techniques such as breathing or imagery to settle attention and bring the mind into a calmer, more focused state.
Focussed Work
The main part of the session, where tailored language and techniques are used to work with the patterns linked to your goal.
Return
A gradual return to normal alertness, followed by a brief review of the session and any next steps.
Your First Session
Your first session sets direction and starts the process.
To begin, we explore what you want to work on and confirm that hypnotherapy suits your needs. At this stage, I also check for any underlying factors that may require a different approach.
Where appropriate, we can move straight into hypnotherapy during the same session. However, in some cases, we may focus more on refining your goals and deciding the best way forward. This could include using hypnotherapy on its own or combining it with other support I offer.
Each session stands on its own and delivers value. That said, some people choose to return for further sessions. There is no requirement to commit in advance, and you always remain in control of what happens next.
When Hypnotherapy Is Combined with Other Support
You can use hypnotherapy on its own. However, when it adds value, I also integrate it with other support I offer.
For example, this may include coaching or personal training, particularly when working on weight loss, confidence, motivation, or performance.
In these cases, hypnotherapy strengthens the patterns that influence behaviour. As a result, you can apply and maintain practical changes more easily.
This approach remains flexible. I only use it when it aligns with your goals.
Why Choose UTHERAPY
I’ve spent over a decade helping clients create change through hypnotherapy and behaviour-focused work. Alongside this, I’ve trained in psychology, counselling skills, and accredited hypnotherapy.
In addition, my background includes advanced qualifications in personal training, corrective exercise, and nutrition. This means I understand how thoughts, emotions, and physical habits interact in real life.
Because of this, every session has a clear purpose. I build each one around what you want to achieve, rather than following a generic script.
Hypnotherapy here isn’t one fixed process. Instead, I use it deliberately to support your specific goals. Where it makes sense, I can also combine it with coaching or training, so everything works together rather than sitting in separate boxes.
